Given that Bus 80 rarely shows up on time and if ever... having waited on average 40 minutes for the morning bus that supposedly travels every 20 minutes - I opted to do something different today. I decided to walk the route - more or less. Half an hour into my walk I had stopped looking behind me for the elusive bus. I was on a roll. By the time I reached the busier streets, the bus did catch up with me - about 45 minutes after I had set out. I did opt to take the bus from this point as I was entering a more industrial area. The full walk would have taken me just over 1 hour.
Part of my rational for getting up and walking is also that trying on my pants from a year or two ago - I am reminded of the extra folds of skin that are a result of having my 15 month old. My previous job gave me cause to be active and to walk at least 40 minutes a day. In my current desk job - this has been reduced to about 20 minutes. So my goal/aim - to walk to work once a week. That being done, i will look at slowly increasing the number of times and see where it takes me!
