About
In the Sky, Stars... (translation from sinhalese)
Ahasae Tharu . net is a platform for experimentation as well as to provide examples of developed sites created through OpenSpring.net using the Drupal 6.x and Drupal 7.x (testing) content management system.
Why web development?
My husband (aka scor in Drupal circles) encouraged me to start developing websites as a hobby while finishing up a masters research thesis in Science (regenerative medicine) for REMEDI, National University of Ireland - Galway. My first real Drupal experience began while helping the organizers of the Galway Drupalcamp 2009. Since then I dove in feet first and created three websites in succession (Sites produced by dcor using Drupal 6.x). Recently, I attended Drupalcon Paris 2009 and the Montreal Drupalcamp in October 2009. At present, having relocated to the Boston area, I occasionally attend the monthly Boston Drupal Meetups. I'm hoping to attend the DrupalCon in Copenhagen in August 2010!
I have had informal training in web design and creation - having worked as both a web developer and systems administrator as early as 1997. My interests in Drupal lie in usability (having contributed to some of the patches going into Drupal 7) and front-end set-up and theming. I'm also a consultant with regards to project management and troubleshooting schema plans with respect to Drupal and other projects.
For information on contracting me for your project please use the site contact form.
What else can I do?
At present I'm currently working for the Harvard Medical School/Howard Hughes Institute. My qualifications include 8 years working in cell culture related projects of which a portion was spent working directly with the optimization of media and bioreactors in the vaccine industry. I have also carried out post-graduate level research on adult adipose (fat) derived stem cells. For a full cv/resumé - please contact me via the site contact form.

Ahasae Tharu Publishing Originally set up as the basis for my endeavours. The theme was originally adapted from the Travel Website Theme by Template Monster. I then merged it with BlogGrail by Gausarts (a Drupal Zen theme) to create the site that was in use for the screenshot. I also created a version of the theme for use with my blogspot site.
Most recently I have recreated the site using free image stocks found on stock.xchng with the modified BlogGrail/Zen theme mentioned above. Colors were identified using color hunter. I've been playing with jQuery UI throughout utilizing jQZoom, jAccordion (Recipes), and Cumulus. All of these required installing their respective Drupal modules. All are described in detail in my blog.
