Butter Cake

 Ingredients:

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 lb Sugar
  • 1/2 lb FLour
  • 1/2 lb Margarine/Butter
  • 1 tsp Cream of Tartar (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 tbs  Milk
  • Vanilla

 Instructions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Add Egg Yolks to the mixture
  3. Sift flour, baking soda and tartar three times
  4. Fold flour into butter
  5. Add milk and vanilla
  6. Beat egg whites in until stiff
  7. Add stiff egg whites to the rest of the batter
  8. Bake in moderate oven, 350° F for 20 minutes
