Wishing I could... Knit Lace

I was just sent a link from Aubrey at StarShaped to a wonderful site showcasing different knitting projects with an earthy nature feel.  The site is by southernselkie.  I WISH that I could knit like that! For the moment all of my projects have been relatively simple involving very little manipulation.  I own the book... but have had a lot of problems figuring out the 'hows' by myself.  What I need to find is a knitting circle of like minded people who may spare a moment to show me what I've been muddling through.  Its the same reason I can't crochet - though, my mother's tried to show me how.  I end up with a yarn all tied up in knots.  Knitting is pretty straightforward.  I like knitting.

Goal: Within the next three years to learn how to knit lace.
