Web development update

on Tuesday, 7th July 2009 - 2:23

Have created the revised Galway Gospel Choir Site - and it is now up and running.  I'm learning a lot about Drupal along the way as each site has its own quirks and bugs.

Voluntarily re-created a more modern site for the Sunyata Centre in Clare.  At the moment it is just a test site

In advertently got hooked into making the Spirit Centre website as well for a not-for-profit located in Galway.  Again, at the moment it is just a test site.

Finally, working on the side to put up my desired web publishing medias:

  • Articles
  • Dakana (publishing the book I wrote online - but in a manner accessible to readers - the book version is available on blurb.com)

Troubled server times

on Wednesday, 8th July 2009 - 5:19

So for 24 hours now haven't been able to release my latest work onto the existing servers.  Apparently they're doing maintenance but its taking a bit longer than first anticipated.  So will take some time out and work offline for now.

Ahasae Tharu Publishing is officially online!

on Thursday, 9th July 2009 - 5:21
I loaded up the site to find it completey 'naked' of theme! But quickly sorted out the issue and here it is. I will be loading the offshoot sites as they become more complete. At the moment still working on Dakana and Storyteller - haven't started Articles yet though I have a few that have already been submitted!

Sunyata.org Online!

on Thursday, 9th July 2009 - 16:23

The Sunyata Retreat Centre is finally complete - we have only to hand it over to Bart & Marion the centre managers.  After completing work on their site I feel like I am more than comfortable making Drupal websites and messing with pre-existing themes.  But I must say, it helps to have an expert at my fingertips!  Thank you SCOR!!!

Spirit Centre Online!

on Tuesday, 14th July 2009 - 12:59

After a quick change in theme (different from the one I posted earlier) - the Spirit Centre in Galway have a new website which they are in the process of populating with their event data.  I think it looks fresh and clean and suits the people running the centre as well as those who would want to attend their events.  So ends my run at web designing for the two not-for-profit organizations (to include the Sunyata Retreat Centre which is a registered charity) as well as my training on Drupal website development.

Theming in blogger

on Saturday, 18th July 2009 - 10:58

I'm quite proud of myself that I've managed to update my private blog with a hot-wired theme to look like the Ahasaetharu.net website.

What is this thing... Drupal?

The sites and sounds of Galway, Ireland

on Monday, 20th July 2009 - 7:46

Spending our last few days (weeks) in Galway... and I thought to take some photos of my favourite sites and sounds.  Trying out the picassa application and happy with its ability to create custom collages of photos! Means that I can upload one photo instead of a dozen!

The move is on!

on Tuesday, 21st July 2009 - 16:46
So begins the long-way-around transition to the States. We've plans to spend some time with the family in France; travel a bit within the vicinity of Europe; attending the DrupalCon Paris; and finally, heading to Cambridge, MA via Iceland. Attached is a sample of my proud efforts of the last few days - 10 boxes packed and wrapped and ready to go!

You think you know your husband, until you find something like this stashed in his luggage! ;) So that's how he does it! (Fridge Door.com)
